     an adventure in time..

    hunor2:

    but find out for yourself

‘You do not know what well-being is, because you have never experienced it,’ he said.
… He said that they only think I knew how to seek was a sense of disorientation, ill-being, and confusion.

He laughed mockingly and assured me that in order to accomplish the feat of making myself miserable

I had to work in a most intense fashion,

    and that is was absurd

I had never realized I could work just the same in making myself complete and strong.

‘The trick is in what one emphasizes,’ he said.

    ‘We either make ourselves miserable,

     or we make ourselves strong.

The amount of work is the same.’

    — Don Juan, Journey to Ixtlan, by Carlos Castaneda

Thanks for sharing such personal memories. :heartbeat:

  • It is possible to be strong and miserable too..to use strength to tether yourself to the earth .Its like music ,sometimes you need a strong back beat , that is strength moving you beyond your tired , but sometimes it works against a melody that will be drowned and lost in it,and then its better to exert less and be light and agile and even lazy or tentative ,Happieness is served when we are adapatable and know when strength is called for and when it is best to accommodate and let go.I have that book on a shelf and have never read it.I have no idea why I haven’t…I am still being educated I guess.
