The long drive to Canada ?

    Information

    “Say here I am ….

    On the road again…

    Oklahoma

On a long and lonesome highway…

     South of Iowa

    Oklahoma countryside

You can listen to the engine…

Moaning out as one long song

    Arbuckle mts1

You can thing about the woman

or the girl you knew the night before….

    Arbuckle mts Okla 13

but your thoughts  will soon be wandering

    the way they always do

    Oklahoma city

    when your riding 16 hours

and there nothing much to do

    Oklahoma City2

and you don’t feel much like riding

you just wish the trip were through…

    Plains 1

    There i am …

    up on the stage

    Here I go…

    playing star again

    plains 2

    Yet ..every ounce of energy

      Just seems to slip away

    Into kanasas

As  the sweat pours off my body

the miles toll on and on ..

    forever in a day

    Kanasas plains & distant storm

    There i go

    turn the page….

    There I go …

    slipped away

It took a bolt of lighting

    to awaken to the truth

    kanasas city

I had given the moment away

    forgotten the very point

    kanasas city thunderstorm

    reclaiming every ounce of energy…

     I sought to give away

    Kanasas city thunderstorm2

I begin to focus on today

     KC traffic

and as the past and future dissolved away

    mississippi river KC

      life itself returns

     KC rainbow

filling me with the feelings of

     color, sound and vibrant aliveness

    Into Iowa

I awaken to the beauty and joy

of each instant of the journey…

     looking back on the trail

    and live..

    Looking back south from Iowa

I was always … only a moment away

    Canada lake superior

    and now

    I am there

Thanks to Bob Segar for the feelings incorporated in the song lyrics

    Turn the page…..
