Shanti has been watching me lately with some degree of amusement..
i have been trying to be….
artful ?
i can press a button on a camera…that easy ….but making things with my hands…
well…usually a hammer is my tool of choice
but this was my intention
to make a way the crystals could present themselves in the best light…
yet not be attached
(no pun to relationships intended)
so they you can pick then up and hold them in your hand
when you like..
then put them back…
and the form will hold them safely….
using a type of polymer clay combination …
i made these forms ..then harden them in the oven …
this material is hard to work with ….
Shanti is watching me take these pictures…
silly cat
My question for ya’ll creative types…is
is there a better type of stuff to work with?

Crystal eye of Shanti is hard looking to crystal…nice art !
i would like to know the brand name of what you are using. i might be able to give you an answer. i looked online for oven baked clay. i could not find anything that baked for 8 hours.

also remember, in terms on perspective, that practice makes perfect, if this is your first time out using a new material :sunny:
you go, oh artful one!
Shanti + stones = beauty

I like the idea! just what is needed to display crystals. I don’t like them atttached to anything either.
Your cat has stunning eyes, like jewels.
Ditto, copy, roger, you know how I feel. Do you have any opals (my very favorite)
Do you sell these online somewhere? They are so beautiful. The cat’s eyes are too.
:wave:I used Crayola Model Magic for my selenite crystal. It air dries in 24 hrs. Crayola also has a couple of other no bake clays that might work better for larger crystals.
