billions of years ago these stromatalites, a type of colonial bacteria, were responsible for changing the atmosphere of the planet.

producing oxygen for the first time into a methane, carbon dioxide  atmosphere, they wiped out  99% of the  life forms present at that time .. but they were just doing their thing, nothing personal

funny, they don’t look like much like killers

Are we not also just doing our thing?

    nothing personal?

Police said the image might have been caused by stains from road salt that dripped from the Kennedy expressway onto the wall, but hundreds of believers have been coming to the underpass to view the image and pray at the spot. • I dont think that we can be held responsible for how far we’ve come, how much damage we’ve done. We merely did what any other creature would probably do had they been in our position… its natural, being the most intelligent creatures on the planet (that we know of). But now that we understand what we’ve done… and what we are able to do to some extent… dont you think we’d (naturally) try to stand up, dust off… and move on? It might seem like we’re just waiting around; standing still. But I think we’re slowly progressing in the area of learning to coexist. We’ve got so far to go…

Or maybe we’re like the salmon? All this work, only to die!

Who knows. Those pictures are disturbing, though.

  • It’s a pity isn’t it. That we don’t no what our thing is..It seems that we are going to wipe the world clean of all living things..It seem we and the stromatalites have alot in common. I can only give my condolences to planet earths next of kin..

  • Agent Smith from the Matrix:

“I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you humans are not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area, and you multiply, and multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.”

    :spinning:

  • be wary of those fish…

  • Coexisting, like slip ring states, is something that could be included in “peopling” … something we seem to be realizing that we can do.. to be fair anyway… justice and injustice is such a deep topic, and I’ve only scraped the surface… when would be a good time to hang out? your phone number was in my phone… the phone went in the water and is dow damaged… today, tomorrow?

  • what a crazy..what kind of animal were playing such masochstic game.
they have deep pain and want to be saved with mixing body pain..SAD !

  • what strange practice is that? man is it sick..

  • I pray  to GOD  it is true what  some  say  thetre is no such thing as  “time”   if so  we need to do double” time”  to rectify many situation ~  not even for us ~  for the younger ones ~  beautiful picKtures Dman ~

  • so basically part of our human nature is to be destructive … so sad to realize that “if” we are the smartest creatures on the planet what we learned is to hurt ourselves. Its time to change that… The Time Is Now!, right?! :)

  • I went to the river today and took along the kayak..dumped it..so I went for a swim..I’m telling you great fun..

  • Hi!
I’m visiting you through Leonidas site!
    You do like Art!
Some Xanga friends stated their art preferences at my site and now there’s an Art Exhibition going on!
Would you care to see it?
From Michelangelo, Gustav Klimt, Manet, Vincent Van Gogh, to Mies van der Rohe and Henri Cartier-Bresson, along with Pablo Neruda poetry, there’s lots of pictures and links that you may found interesting.
    I hope you enjoy it!
I notice that we are the same age. You like to fly. I’m a “horse lover” since childhood and always wanted to fly a plain… Your site is very interesting… although I don’t use to subscribe on first visit ( ) I’m going to make an exception…
    Best wishes,
    Isabel
