    Who are you?

Are you the owner of a cool car?

Are you a doctor or lawyer?

    Are you rich?

    Are you famous?

    Are you a parent ?

    Are you smart, intelligent, funny?

    Are you a college graduate?

    Are you good looking

    Are you a mind reader?

    Are you an athlete?

    Are you loved?

Are you from a long line of Johnsons?

    Are you a Christian

    Are you a democrat?

    Are you white?

    Are you an American?

    Are you your Xanga Site?

    None of these are you!

I am not asking you to believe your identity is not found  in these things.

You will know the truth for yourself.

You will know this when death approaches and you relinquish all of these

Death strips away all that is not you.

The secret of life is to die before you die.

~And find that there is no death~

“Whoever has something in his hand will be given more, and whoever has nothing will be deprived of even the little they have” -Jesus

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘*WOW*! What A Ride!” -unknown

I am a person who is enjoying the ride.  Wanna see my dings?  I think I need a new fender … LOL

  • who are you?

    heh heh…good question :sunny:

  • Like that last quote… my own life has been a roller coaster: the tallest, biggest, longest, scariest ride ever built.  And I’ve broken more bones along the way but have enjoyed the ride for the most part.

Now if I could just find the exit for a brief bit.  Recovery takes longer at my age.  Namaste

  • I have to laugh a bit, I know I’m not particularly fun in my comments, sometimes maybe?  I just have to try to look at things as I think they really are and then look at what the choices are.  How else can you go about it.

If you liked the blog today, how about a link to it for me.  I think its sad the problems of 50 years ago were addressed again 25 years ago and are still being addressed in the same ways today, 54 years later.  Science has known but we ignore and we allow government to keep putting off the real responsibilities as they are backed by industry we we as individuals feed but, we as individuals need to take a look at the real problems, cast blame where it lies and a lot of it lies on ourselves and look at life realistically and do something about it as a unit to make things better.  How else can we make the changes necessary?  Link to me, LittleEgypt and to my blog: Do You Have The Courage

Agree with your assessment of life after death…we’re broken down to our components, and i think the mind/soul exists beyond the ‘death’ of the body

  • i love this ride…it’s always amazing me!

sure u can post it, and yes..i have pretty much the same problem, when i reach the moment when the silence and darkness set in, i begin to anaylze it and then think too much about it, instead of just enjoying it…just gotta keep working on it…thanks!

  • I like your site , nice pics.

  • I know you disagree with the following statment but I think it holds true ” I think therefore I AM.”  I am adaptable able to form myself to new environments and surrondings as per my whim. though I genneraly prefer solitude.  we are whatever we choose to be.     then again we can start the old argument does somethings function define it’s purpose?, and does it’s purpose  create it’s defintion?   is there more than mere defintion ?  or are we truly only what we acomplish and leave behind?

  • There is a point to this blog, the one previous and the one today.  If you don’t mind putting that link on your blog tomorrow, I’d love that and maybe some of your readers will as well.  I will post a new blog on Friday before we go out of town.

    Regards,

  • I fucking love Henry David Thoreau-you know-when mark and me broke up-after the shadow lifted a bit-when i actually began to see and not just feel-i said to him that day-it is like the lavender plant i have-a few weeks ago-i asked you how to score it at the roots-as it was rootbound-i did what i thought you said-and if that lavender didnt just BURST INTO BEAUTY…one week before – i resisted not and set free with wisdom that hearts that hear (hm nice typo-hurt is what was supposed to be) are hearts that are growing.  G-d bless him I said-for all that you were, are and will grow to be…

    Gracefully,

    Dana Paige Silverberg

I love Thoreau.  Walden Pond is the stream…

  • Who are we?
    _________

Why, I am the star that follows you home
I am the wind that keeps you cool
I am the jester that makes you laugh
I am the poet that makes you cry.
I am all of these and so
    Who am I?

  • Where am I? Who am I? How did I come to be here?
What is this thing called the world? How did I come into the world? Why was I not consulted? And If I am compelled to take part in it, Where is the director?
    I want to see him.

    Kierkegaard, the Swedish philospher

  • Who is the master that makes the grass green?
Who takes what is seen and makes it more than a dream?
We see with our mind, not with our eyes,
And how many times have you told lies?
We are all better artists than we realize.
