  • I suppose my mind will insist on chattering away anyway…but the man speaks with grat patience….I sense he has a good sense of humor.

  • Hi tonite I’m at Best Buy drooling over the Bose sound system .

  • how interesting to hear Tolle speak. i read his book when it first came out and ya know, you have no idea at that time what the person sounds like. very cool. :coolman:

  • AH,  the sky speaks to you my friend,  and through your pictures it also speaks to me.

    :)

  • RYC—all i can say is you really know how to make a girl-woman smile.  thank you for the sweet.

  • oh wow, just checked out these pics. inspiring, good stuff.

  • That was a good journey. Thank You my friend

  • That was an amazing comment. All of it. I’m amazed at the time you took to tell me all of those things and to share your views.

I am, at least I think so, very open minded. Completely open to another persons educated view. You showed me a lot.

I am not against teachers, far from it. I admire them more than you realize. I used to teach. For three years. I actually gave it up for many of the reasons you stated.

Following such a strict guideline as demanded by the state and the district. It was exactly the kind of stress and discomfort I’m sure that teacher you know who suffered a stroke dealt with.

For me, it wasn’t worth it.

I find I can better apply myself toward humanity in other ways.

My daughter attends the very same school my son attends. She is thriving where he is not. I HAVE to take his psychological state as my number one indicator. He’s my son. I love him and want him to be happy.

I mentioned a one-time incident in my blog. It is one of many.

I’m not condemning ALL public education, but I do condemn this particular school. I have a neighbor who is a psychologist. She has taught the First Offenders program here in Arizona for 17 years. The high school that my children attend refers 81% of her first offenders. When she told me that, I was shocked! It is a beautiful school. Nicer than most shopping centers. Its auditorium could rival concert halls.

My son has been a straight A student his entire school career. Academically he has no problems. He’s above 12th grade level in all AIMS and standardized testing. This school, this environment is dragging him down.

I’ve decided that come April when he turns 16, I will withdraw him from high school. He will get his GED and then come Fall will enroll him in some community college courses.

I wish you were one of the teachers at his school. At least then, I believe, he’d have somebody to turn to.
