“He lost everything, he said,
that could be taken from a prisoner,
except one thing;
“the last of the human freedoms,
to choose one’s attitude
in any given set of circumstances,
to choose one’s own way.”"
Viktor Frankel

Only from deep within the moment
will the attitude of peace find you..
No one can take you from this moment
You choose to take
Your attention out of the moment
The instant when you agree to listen
to your own thoughts.

As important as listening is accepting what we hear.
Very interesting images….and as is often the case here the words seem simpler then they actually are…I get it but it was like dancing with a shadow.People like me who are always chattering away inside our heads rarely find the peace you speak of.
I changed my user name… in the “real world ” since my hippy days I go by miashine so why not now and here? …so from one who will still try to be kind and strong I greet you as miashine_ now:)
lovely
You know, reading that quote just brought back the memory of when I went to The Museum Of Tolerance. They have a replica of one of the concentration camps with the showers, and even though you are in a museum … in a recreation … you still get that heavy feeling once you pass by the gaurd towers.
piece train… hmm wasnt that a song by the llamas and the pappas?
:lookaround:I don’t know that I really get your meaning of the “fire elementals”. I have to tell you that the visual of them popped into my crazy mind :wha: today during communion at church.
I almost choked trying to stifle a belly laugh. LOL  I don’t think you meant it that way but I can’t help it. I know,,, I’m a wierdo.:fun:
On a deeply personal level, I needed to hear your message and be reminded of this truth. Thanks, Doug!
Sometimes a moment~yes~a single drop of rain in the palm of the hand~a blessed meditation~
To choose~ :sunny:
Peace~
Ok now I understand the “fire elementals” so we’ll talk about it sometime soon. Accept my apologies!?
I was only thinking yesterday how no matter what anyone may do to me, I will always have my freedom to choose…and it is my perceptions of my choices that make my life.
There is so much power there.
I love you, Doug…GFW
We can’t choose what happens to us, but we can choose the attitude in which we respond. To choose to be grace and mercy and love is a sweet freedom indeed.
:coolman:
On another note, every time I come over here these days, I want to type, “Tina eat your ham!” :fun:
Grace & peace be with you,
Steve :spinning:
